About the laboratory

The main direction of the laboratory: study of parameters of innate and adaptive immunity, cytokine status and molecular genetic mechanisms of birth defects in both women and men. The laboratory conducts research aimed at studying immunological mechanisms during physiological pregnancy, its complications related to obstetric and somatic pathologies, as well as in women suffering from various gynecological diseases.

In 1985, the laboratory became part of the branch of the Institute of Immunology of the Ministry of Health of the USSR under the name of the Laboratory of Immunomorphology. The first head of the laboratory was doctor of medical sciences, professor A.A. Botirbekov managed until 1994. Then the laboratory was headed by a doctor of medical sciences. A.R. Sirota until 2001. From 2002 to the present, the doctor of biological sciences, professor D.A. Musakhadjaeva. In 2018, the name of the laboratory was changed. 15 doctoral theses and 30 candidate theses were prepared and defended in this laboratory.

Additional directions:

– to study the mechanisms of immune response in children and adults living in ecologically unfavorable areas under normal conditions and in various pathological conditions;

– To study the mechanisms of immune reactions in children and adults with allergic, bronchopulmonary and gastrointestinal diseases;

– Study of the expression of immune response mediators in systemic diseases;

– To study the effects of immune response mediators and growth factors on regeneration and recovery from injuries;

– The trigger mechanism of immunopathogenesis in individuals of different ages who have recovered from coronavirus infection.

– The role of immunological and molecular genetic aspects of aging, longevity and the development of age-related pathologies.

During the laboratory activities, the following problems were studied:

– the influence of environmental factors on the state of human immunity;

– Immunological profile (normative indicators) of the population of different regions of the Republic of Uzbekistan;

– study of immune indicators in various pathological conditions (autoimmune diseases, metabolic diseases, consequences of radiation at the Chernobyl NPP, somatic diseases of children, acute and chronic respiratory diseases, TORCH infections, etc.).

The laboratory works in close cooperation with medical universities and research institutes in Uzbekistan, near and far abroad.

She heads the laboratory since 2002. Musakhodjaeva D.A. have been published more than 400 scientific works, including 8 monographs, as well as 1 patent on “Immunological criteria for predicting antenatal fetal death in pregnant women with diabetes” and 5 certificates for software issued by the Intellectual Property Agency. Republic of Uzbekistan. Also, 36 educational and methodological manuals, 2 information letters, 2 brochures and rationalization proposals were published.

Under the leadership of Musakhodjaeva D.A. to date, 10 highly qualified specialists have been trained, 3 of them are doctors of science, 7 are candidates of science.

Musakhodjaeva D.A. was the first in our Republic to identify changes in the immune system during menstruation in women, created the standard of indicators of the immune system, and revealed the mechanisms of the formation and changes of the immune system in women’s gynecological and obstetrical diseases. In these cases, it justifies the possibility of immunocorrection, and the recommended training manuals are widely used in practical medicine. Currently, scientific research of Musakhodjaeva D.A. includes basic and clinical immunology, environmental immunology, gynecology and obstetrics, infectious diseases, traumatology, ophthalmology, dermatovenerology and other fields.

Since 2011, Musakhodjaeva D.A. member of Medical Genetics Research Council; Allergology and Immunology; Molecular biology. Molecular genetics. Molecular biotechnology; Cell biology and developmental biology (in medical sciences), and from 2021 he is a member of the attestation commission for awarding a scientific title of the Bukhara State Medical Institute.

She taught courses of clinical allergology and immunology to students of the higher education system (as a professor of the microbiology department of Tashkent State Dental Institute).

Musakhodjaeva D.A. Awarded with “30 years of independence” and “Health care excellence of the Republic of Uzbekistan” badges.
